Stripe Atlas Startup Deals & Discounts

Atlas is the rare program where the vendor's own page and our listing describe different perks, so here is both.

What Stripe's page offers right now: a $500 setup fee, $2,500 in Stripe product credits for the first year after incorporation, over $50,000 in partner discounts, and the Atlas fee refunded when you fund a Stripe Treasury account with $5,000 within 90 days.

What our listing shows: $25,000 in fee-free processing, 50% off the incorporation fee, $500 in credits on fees, no commissions on payments up to $20,000, plus smaller discounts. The processing perks are limits on volume.

Beside other banking-style incentives in our catalog. Mercury lists $500 back for $10,000 deposited within 90 days, and Rho lists $1,600 back for a $20,000 minimum balance held 60 days. As a share of the deposit or balance, Stripe's refund is 10%, Rho's is 8% and Mercury's is 5%. Clerky, a pure incorporation service in our catalog, lists $100 off.

A non-US founder who needs a US entity for investors. Atlas was built for this: a Delaware C corporation, a US tax ID and a SAFE template in one session, in about two business days.

A founder who plans to take payments on Stripe anyway. The refund, product credits and fee-free volume all sit inside Stripe's ecosystem, so they cost nothing extra to use. If the plan is a different processor, most of the value disappears.

A solo consultant who wants a plain US LLC. Weigh the $500 and the $100 yearly agent fee against your own state's filing costs, and ask an accountant about tax structure, since Atlas gives no advice on it.

A team with an unusual cap table, multiple founders in disputes or special share classes. The templates are standard, and Atlas states it is not a law firm; such cases belong with a lawyer.

Skip the Treasury refund if $5,000 cannot go into a Stripe Treasury account within 90 days. Skip the processing perk if you will not reach the volume.

Atlas charges a one-time $500 that includes state filing fees, next-day expedited processing and the first year of the required Delaware registered agent. From year two the agent costs $100 a year and renews automatically, though it can be cancelled. Fundraising tools, including SAFEs and board consents, carry no extra fee.

Stripe's standard processing is 2.9% + 30¢ per successful domestic card transaction. The listed fee-free volume of $25,000 therefore saves:

• the percentage part: $725
• the 30¢ part: $150 at a $50 average sale, $75 at $100
• total: about $875, or $800 if the average sale is $100

That is the whole value of the $25,000 perk, because the offer waives fees on the first $25,000 of volume rather than paying the fees you owe. Where our listing's 50% off the incorporation fee applies, it saves $250, not $500. Total Atlas cost over two years is $600 at full price.
